We recognise we have a vital role in helping to protect the local and global environment and are proud to use a wide range of sustainable products throughout the product process. These include timbers that have been FSC certified or PEFC approved, or have originated from managed forests.
We take advice from the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), Programme for the Endoresment of Forest Certification (PEFC) and International Tropical Timber organisation (ITTO) to purchase from suppliers who can certify their products are manufactured from sustainable forestry or recycled materials.
We ensure we have:
- A commitment to environmental performance
- An understanding of impact on the environment
- Implementation of processes to bring about environmental goals and objectives
- A continual commitment to improvement
We recycle our office and factory waste across all our sites wherever possible and work to implement environmental projects that will ultimately benefit both our workplace and our community to create a clean and safe place in which to work.
We reuse our material waste to heat our factory facility resulting in zero use of fossil fuels and 80% reduced CO2 emissions.

All fired up for the future
Mereway Kitchens uses a wood fired burner which not only boasts a number of environmental benefits, but it is one of Mereway’s largest capital investments in recent years, demonstrating a commitment to our long term future.
We are leading the way in the industry as they are the first British furniture manufacturer to install a burner of this type that incorporates the new technology for even more reduced emissions.
