Michael's Marathon for Sense
Mereway retailer and former ‘The Apprentice’ contestant Michael Copp is warming up to raise money for deafblind charity Sense as part of their celebrity running team.
Michael, who founded Essex based Dream Bedroom and Kitchen designs, is hoping to raise sponsorship for the 26-mile long Virgin London Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 21st April.
“I’m delighted to be running this year's Virgin London Marathon for Sense,” says Michael. “There are 250,000 children and adults in the UK who are deafblind and Sense has a vital role in supporting people of all ages and raising awareness.”
Michael recently paid a visit to Sense’s Anne Wall Centre, and experienced first hand the charity’s benefit for adults and children with sensory impairments, and additional learning disabilities, further spurring him on to help promote the charity.
Fundraising kicks off with a series of events to be held at Michael’s Woodford Green Dream Kitchen and Bedroom showroom, and with the help of his supporters, he hopes to raise £2000.
“We are proud to be support Michael and hope that others in the KBB industry will join us to help him raise as much money as possible,” adds Mereway sales and marketing director Graham Jones.
“I’m used to a tough challenge from my time on BBC1's The Apprentice, and from my career as an entrepreneur, businessman and founder of Dream Bedroom and Kitchen Designs but the Marathon will be one of the toughest yet!
“I can't wait to get started and help Sense to change the lives of deafblind people,” says Michael.
